Joseph McHugh

Joseph McHugh is an experienced fire service professional with a comprehensive background in safety and incident management. Currently serving as Chief of the Greenwich Fire Department since September 2020, McHugh has also held various leadership roles within the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) since 1991, including Battalion Chief in Safety Battalion 1, where responsibilities included the safety of FDNY members during significant emergencies. Notable achievements include investigations into line-of-duty deaths, serving as an expert witness, and developing training programs to enhance operational risk mitigation. McHugh's career reflects expertise in safety oversight, training, and building inspections, complemented by a Bachelor of Science degree in Arson Investigation from the University of New Haven.
