Jay Buckmaster

Jay Buckmaster has had a long and successful career in the YMCA, starting with their role as an Aquatic Director at the YMCA of Metro Milwaukee and Stevens Point YMCA. Jay then moved up to become an Associate Executive Director at the Metro Milwaukee YMCA, where they grew the aquatic program and managed the daily operations of a facility with a large membership and program base.

In 2006, Buckmaster became the Executive Director of the Greater Wichita YMCA, where they opened and ran a 105K square foot facility. Jay exceeded membership and program goals and significantly grew annual fundraising. Jay then transitioned to the role of Vice President, overseeing a $20M operating budget for five facilities in the Greater Wichita area. Jay restructured maintenance operations to reduce costs and designed and implemented a successful development program.

From there, Buckmaster joined the Tampa Metro YMCA as a Senior Vice President, directing operations for the Tampa district. Jay secured multiple grants to support college scholarship programs and managed a $6M budget.

Most recently, Buckmaster served as the President/CEO of the Grand Traverse Bay YMCA, a role they held from 2014 to 2018. And in 2018, they took on the position of Chief Executive Officer at Crossroads YMCA.

Jay Buckmaster attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching. The specific start and end years of their education are not provided.
