Donald (Don) J. McNamara is the Chairman of Hampstead Holdings, a real estate investment company he founded in 1988. Over the last 20 years, Hampstead, in partnership with a small group of individual and institutional investors, has invested over $1 billion of equity in real estate. The vast majority of these transactions were in the hospitality and senior housing sectors and included a variety of structures from simple, single asset acquisitions to complex public company transactions.
Don has over 30 years of successful investment experience including Bass Brothers Enterprises, Marriott Corporation and JMB Realty. He has served as the Chairman of the Board of Bristol Hotels and Felcor Lodging Trust and has served as a director of Americana Hotels and Realty Trust, LaQuinta, Forum Retirement Partners L.P, Catellus, and Omega Healthcare Investors.
Don serves as a Director of Franklin Covey and Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants. He also serves as a Trustee for St. Mark’s School of Texas and the Virginia Tech Foundation. Don received his undergraduate degree in Architecture in 1976 from Virginia Tech and his MBA in 1978 from Harvard University.
