Hugo Valentim Barros has diverse work experience in the field of software testing and quality assurance. Hugo started their career as a Research Intern at the Computer Science Department of the University Federal de Minas Gerais in 2001. Hugo then moved on to work as the Manager of the UFMG Open Source Laboratory, where they contributed to initiatives promoting the use of open-source solutions in Brazil. In 2004, they joined the Imprensa Oficial do Estado de Minas Gerais / Qualiconsult as a Project Manager, where they gained expertise in security, threat modeling, and system monitoring. In 2005, Hugo transitioned to Fumsoft and worked as a Project Manager, overseeing software development projects and defining development processes. In 2007, they worked as a Consultant for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), focusing on mapping the demand and supply of open-source software in Latin American governments. Hugo joined Base2 Tecnologia in 2004 and held the position of CEO, providing software testing services to the regional market. In 2010, they founded Crowdtest, a platform where users find software defects in exchange for rewards. In 2016, they joined Toptal as a QA Engineer, specializing in test automation, test planning, and load testing. Hugo Valentim Barros has a diverse education history. In 1997, they obtained the "First Certificate in English" from the University of Cambridge. Subsequently, from 1998 to 2002, they pursued a degree in Computer Science at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. In 2003, they obtained the "Certificate in Advanced English (CAE)" from the University of Cambridge. Continuing their academic journey, from 2002 to 2004, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science, specializing in "Exploring Clause Symmetry in a Distributed Bounded Model Checking Algorithm" at the same university.
Furthering their expertise, in 2004, Hugo obtained an MBA in Finance from Ibmec. Most recently, in 2014, Hugo attended a program in "Innovation and Entrepreneurship" at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Through this program, they deepened their knowledge and skills in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.
