Shahab Hasan serves as vice president of Aeronautics Strategy and Analysis for Crown Consulting Inc. In this role, he leads research and analysis of concepts, technologies, and markets to inform client strategy development and portfolio management.
Hasan has devoted his academic training and professional career to aeronautics. He began his career at NASA Ames Research Center working in conceptual aircraft design and air traffic management research and development, then progressing to technical project management and executive leadership roles in the private sector. He brings more than 25 years of experience in systems engineering; staff management; project management; analysis of alternatives; cost, benefits, policy, and safety assessments; and modeling and simulation.
Before joining Crown, Hasan served as program director at Logistics Management Institute, leading its civil aviation team. He has managed and contributed to more than 250 contracts and task orders, including writing proposals, project planning, and technical execution for civil, military, and national security customers. He has authored more than 25 technical papers that have been published and presented at professional society conferences and journals.
Hasan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace and ocean engineering and a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering, both from Virginia Tech. He is an associate fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and certified by the International Council on Systems Engineering as an associate system engineering professional.
