Sina Nia Kosari

Sina Nia Kosari, PhD, is an accomplished expert in robotics and control systems with extensive experience in both industry and academia. Currently serving as Director of Planning and Controls at Cruise since April 2018, Sina has held multiple engineering management roles within the company, focusing on motion planning and controls. Prior experience includes managing Robotics and Control Systems Engineering at Verb Surgical Inc., where responsibilities encompassed developing control algorithms and collaborating with mechanical and clinical engineers. Notably, during tenure at SRI International, Sina contributed to surgical robotics projects for Johnson and Johnson. Academic credentials include a PhD in Robotics from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Robotics from McMaster University, following an undergraduate degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology.
