Jianyu Chen

Jianyu Chen, ACAS, currently serves as the Director of Programs at Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies since August 2024 and has been an Officer at Large and Mentorship Program Lead at Abacus Actuaries since October 2021. Previous experience includes roles as Associate Actuary and Senior Actuarial Analyst at Crum & Forster from July 2022 to August 2024, and various actuarial positions at Verisk from July 2018 to July 2022. Jianyu has also taught mathematics at Baruch College and the NYC Department of Education, and was a Mathematics Instructor at A+ Academy LLC. Academic credentials include a Master’s Degree in Mathematics Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics Theory from New York University, alongside an international exchange program at Università Bocconi.
