François Coallier

François Coallier serves as the Chair of the Board and a Board Member at the Standards Council of Canada since October 2013, driving initiatives in voluntary standardization to enhance the national economy and public welfare. As a Full Professor at École de technologie supérieure, Coallier has contributed to IT and Software Engineering education and has held various significant roles including Chief Information Officer and Founding Chair of the Department of Software and IT Engineering. Coallier is actively involved in international standardization efforts, chairing several committees within IEC and ISO/IEC, focusing on bio-digital convergence and the Internet of Things. Additionally, Coallier has experience as a guest lecturer at the University of Luxembourg and has held visiting professorships in Brazil, further establishing a strong academic and professional presence in the field of technology and standardization. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. and M.Sc.A. in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal, alongside degrees in Engineering Physics and Biology.
