Irina Kupiainen

Irina Kupiainen serves as the Public Affairs Director at CSC - IT Center for Science since October 2012, where responsibilities include strategic foresight based on policy analysis and stakeholder engagement at both national and international levels. Kupiainen has held various roles at CSC, including Programme Director, overseeing the Open Scholarship Innovation Programme, and Development Manager, focusing on impact and influence in EU affairs. Previous experience includes Assistant Secretary General at the Ministry of Defence of Finland, providing expertise in crisis communication and media relations, as well as internships at the Permanent Mission of Finland to the OSCE and the Bundesministerium für Gesundheit und Frauen. Holding a Master of Social Sciences in Political Science from the University of Helsinki and currently pursuing an Executive MBA at Henley Business School, Kupiainen also has a background in leadership roles in student organizations.
