Alain-Serge Porret is currently the Vice President and Division Head of Integrated and Wireless Systems at CSEM since June 2013. Prior to that, Alain-Serge was the Co-founder and CEO of SiGear Inc., providing high-performance integrated transceivers for the Consumer Electronics industry. Alain-Serge also co-founded Xceive, where Alain-Serge served as the Director and VP of Engineering, pioneering fully integrated hybrid TV tuners. Alain-Serge has a Ph.D. in Low-Power Radio Frequency Integrated Circuits from EPFL, where Alain-Serge also obtained their Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. With a background in architecture and project management, Alain-Serge has been actively involved in various companies and research projects within the field of electronics and technology.

CSEM is a private, non profit Swiss company for applied research, including technology, strategy and innovation consulting, focused on generating value for a sustainable world.They aim to be one of the best innovation centers worldwide, providing novel applications and solutions to their customers by developing and applying their technologyplatforms in micro-, nano- and information technologies, thus adding value to the results of research.Their research activities - financed by public funds - combined with the research results of their academic partners, help us to develop their technology platforms for the benefit of their industrial customers and their start-ups.They are aware that collaborating with other innovation centers and research entities is crucial. They work together with CEA/Léti in France, the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft (Mikroelektronische Allianz) in Germany and VTT in Finland. Together with these institutions, CSEM created HTA (Heterogeneous Technology Alliance), to prepare for the next generation of technology.Their research strategy is based on extensive market research, and helps us to develop technologies today which will be needed in the future.While research activities remain one of the cornerstones of CSEM, they never lose sight of the overriding importance of their customers - it is they who provide us with invaluable insights into global markets.
