Stephen J. Berman is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in corporate finance, M&A, and private equity. Currently serving as Managing Director at CSG Partners, LLC since January 2002, Berman advises management and owners of private businesses with a focus on ESOPs and direct investing. As President of Synergy Capital I LLC since 1996, Berman has provided corporate finance solutions and liquidity tools for private companies. Previously, Berman was a Partner at Seaport Capital Inc. from 1992 to 1995, co-managing an $85 million private equity fund, and co-founded an $800 million leveraged buyout fund during tenure as Managing Director at Prudential-Bache Interfunding from 1987 to 1991. Berman's early career at Prudential Financial from 1976 to 1987 included roles in direct lending, credit oversight, and transaction structuring. Berman holds an MBA in finance from NYU Stern School of Business and a BA in psychology from the University of Rochester.
