Barath Harithas

Barath Harithas is a Senior Fellow and Adjunct Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, focusing on the Project on Trade and Technology. Additionally, Barath serves as a Teaching Fellow at Harvard John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, leading a module on semiconductor design and its significance in AI and US-China competition. Barath's previous experience includes serving as a Belfer Young Leader at Harvard's Belfer Center, supporting former US Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, and as a Senior Development Partner at Enterprise Singapore, where Barath developed deep-tech standards and the National AI Standards Roadmap. Prior roles include Assistant Director at Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry, handling disputes during the US-China Trade War, and Foreign Service Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, managing US-Singapore relations. Barath's military background includes service as a Captain in the Singapore Armed Forces. Education includes a Master in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Political Science from the National University of Singapore.
