Marie McAuliffe

Marie McAuliffe serves as the Head of the Migration Research & Publications Division at IOM - UN Migration, a position held since July 2016, where responsibilities include being the chief editor of the flagship World Migration Report and leading IOM research. In addition, Marie is a non-resident Senior Associate at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, an Associate Editor for the Harvard Data Science Review, and a Senior Fellow at the Global Migration Centre, all roles undertaken concurrently since 2020. Furthermore, Marie holds the title of Visiting Fellow at The Australian National University's School of Demography, is an International Steering Committee member for Metropolis International, and serves on the board for DIHAD. Prior board membership includes the Academic Council on the United Nations System. Marie's academic credentials include a Doctor of Philosophy in Demography from The Australian National University, obtained between 2014 and 2017, alongside earlier professional experience as Director of the Australian Irregular Migration Research Program within the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
