Sonya Curciev

Sonya Curciev is an accomplished legal and governance professional with extensive experience in strategic legal advice and corporate governance. Currently serving as a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Governance Committee at Gateways Support Services Inc. since October 2024, Sonya also holds the position of Deputy Company Secretary at CSL and is a member of the Sustainability Committee for the Governance Institute of Australia. Previous roles include Company Secretary for Jumar Bioincubator and Managing Counsel at BHP, where strategic legal advice was provided for BHP’s global gas marketing and petroleum assets. Additionally, Sonya has experience as a Senior Corporate Lawyer at General Motors and began her career at Allens. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Science from La Trobe University, as well as graduate credentials from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia.
