Melissa Dias Buerbaumer

Melissa Dias Buerbaumer currently serves as the Chief of Budget and Finance at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) since February 2021. Prior to this role, Melissa worked at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as Head of Accounting and Reporting from June 2015 to February 2021, contributing to the agency's efforts in promoting the peaceful use of nuclear technology. Melissa's previous experience includes serving as Chief of Accounts at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) from May 2010 to June 2015, and holding various positions within the United Nations, including Policy Analyst and Finance Officer for Peacekeeping. Earlier in the career, Melissa was a Senior Auditor at Deloitte and Touche in Austria, and Audit Assistant in Portugal. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Economics from WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business), as well as degrees in Economics from Loughborough University and Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
