David Valdez

David Valdez is an experienced professional in privacy, cybersecurity, and technology policy, currently serving as Vice President at CTIA, where responsibilities include acting as an industry liaison and expert for regulatory engagement with various federal agencies. Prior to this role, Valdez held the position of Director of Global Policy Campaigns at Meta, focusing on privacy legislation initiatives. Valdez's extensive background also includes serving as Deputy Chief of the Telecom Consumer Division at the Federal Communications Commission, where oversight of privacy enforcement matters was a key responsibility, as well as roles as Special Counsel in the Wireless Bureau and for former Acting Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn. Earlier positions included Senior Director of Federal Legislative Affairs at CompTIA and Senior Vice President at Verizon, managing public policy and regulatory issues across multiple states. David Valdez holds advanced degrees from Georgetown University Law Center and Rutgers Law School, along with a Bachelor's degree in Communications from California State University, Northridge.
