Avis Favaro

Avis Favaro is a seasoned Senior Broadcast Journalist and Medical Correspondent at CTV News since 1992. Favaro's impactful reporting has garnered numerous accolades, including the 2022 RTDNA National Lifetime Achievement Award and several Canadian Screen Award nominations. With a rich background in health communications, Favaro is also a Senior Advisor at Santis Health, the owner of Hypochondria Communications, and a podcast host for the Canadian Institute for Health Information. In 2022, Favaro served as the first Journalist in Residence at McMaster University’s Faculty of Science. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Journalism from Western University and an honorary PhD from McMaster University, along with various degrees related to history and music performance.
