Jesus Velez

Jesus Velez has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Jesus currently holds the position of Vice President - Investment Analysis & Strategy at Cubico Sustainable Investments since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at EDP Renewables from 2018 to 2022, where they held roles such as Head of Portfolio Optimization - Global Energy Management and Global Risk & Markets Manager. Jesus also worked at Covestro from 2017 to 2018, where they served as a Project Engineer - Energy Operations and HSEQ, specializing in operations improvement and energy efficiency. Before that, they were a Consultant at everis from 2014 to 2016, working on projects to improve natural gas strategy and operations. Jesus'scareer began with an internship at Armando Alvarez Group in 2014, where they focused on implementing continuous improvement procedures in a Biomass Electrical Plant. Jesus also gained experience as an Industrial Engineering Intern at EUROPEAN FREIGHT SYSTEMS (UK) LIMITED in 2013, where they analyzed and improved stock tracking procedures and warehouse management.

Jesus Velez obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Industrial Engineering specialized in Energy Sources from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 2014. Jesus later pursued a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the same institution, completing it in 2017. Additionally, they earned a Master's degree in Industrial Technology and Operations from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2017.
