Michael Margitus

Michael Margitus began their work experience in 2009 as an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Niagara University, where they taught until 2010. Michael then worked as an Adjunct Professor of Mathematics at Niagara County Community College from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2021, they worked at CUBRC, first as a Software Engineer and then as a Senior Research Scientist. In these roles, they were involved in developing distributed graph-based applications and optimizing mathematical models for various projects related to Space Situational Awareness, Satellite Communications, and Mission Planning for the US Air Force and US Navy. Additionally, they served as a Research Scientist at the University at Buffalo from 2015 to 2021.

Michael Margitus completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Operations Research from the University at Buffalo in 2021. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Computational and Applied Mathematics from the Rochester Institute of Technology from 2007 to 2009. Michael began their academic journey by earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Mathematics from the Rochester Institute of Technology, which they completed from 2003 to 2007.
