Dino di Carlo

Dino Di Carlo serves as the Chair and Vice Chair of the UCLA Department of Bioengineering since July 2016 and has been a Professor at UCLA since August 2008, where responsibilities include managing a 20-person research laboratory, raising funds, developing budgets, and teaching courses in biomedical engineering design. Additional notable roles include Visiting Professor at The University of Tokyo and co-founder or board member of several biotechnology companies, such as Partillion Bioscience, Forcyte Biotechnologies, Inc., CytoVale, Saku Biosciences, and Tempo Therapeutics. Dino Di Carlo holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco, both attained from 2002 to 2006.
