Dan Vinh is vice president of marketing and communications at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA). In this position, Mr. Vinh is responsible for building the CIA brand’s continued leadership in the culinary world; driving enrollment for the college; and increasing revenue for both consumer operations—including restaurants, food enthusiast classes, and The CIA at Copia foodie destination in Napa, and for industry thought leadership conferences and consulting services.

Mr. Vinh joined the CIA in 2018 after almost a decade as an executive with Marriott International. During his tenure at Marriott, he successfully grew the Renaissance Hotels brand into a global lifestyle portfolio built around experiential activations; innovative partnerships in music, arts, food, and beverage; and content marketing and social media, of which it was an early adopter. He also launched the European AC Hotels brand in the United States.

A digital native marketer, Mr. Vinh was vice president of marketing for AOL’s mobile services and Netscape ISP and marketing director for e-commerce pioneer 1-800-FLOWERS.com. He started his marketing career as a senior brand manager at Unilever and as a management consultant with IBM Consulting Group.
