James Head has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. James started their career in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Platoon Leader from 1986 to 1994. After leaving the military, James worked as a Principal Gunnery Trainer and Doctrine Developer at Vinnell Arabia from 1993 to 1996. James then joined Sprint as a Network Technical Assistance Center Engineer II from 1998 to 2002. Following this, James worked as a Senior Systems Analyst at CYIOS Corporation from 2002 to 2004. James then spent six years as a Senior Systems Engineer Production at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) from 2004 to 2010. James joined Navmar Applied Sciences Corporation as an Aerostat Operator from 2011 to 2013. James then worked as an Electronic Technician at Battlespace Flight Services LLC from 2015 to 2016. From 2016 to 2018, James served as a Systems Integration & Test professional at Lockheed Martin. James then joined Five Stones Research Corporation as a Systems Test & Evaluation specialist in 2018, before transitioning to their current role as a Principal Systems Engineer at Cummings Aerospace in 2020.

James Head earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Communications Media, Journalism, TV and Radio from Troy University between the years of 1985 and 1988. James furthered their education by obtaining a Master's degree in Aerospace Science from the American Military University, where they studied from 2012 to 2017. Additionally, James Head has obtained several certifications, including "Analyzing Data with Excel" from edX in May 2023, "6.002/1x: Circuits & Electronics0Basic Circuit Analysis" from MITx on edX in October 2020, "Statistical Thinking for Data Science and Analytics" from Columbia University in the City of New York in January 2016, and "Leadership for Engineers" from X!Delft in October 2015.
