Curtis Long

Curtis Long is an accomplished mechanical engineer with extensive experience in the automotive and heavy machinery sectors, currently serving as the Alternative Power Technical Project Leader at Cummins Inc. since July 2014. In this role, Curtis collaborates with stakeholders to manage various projects focused on alternative fuels, hydrogen, electric vehicles, and hybrids. Previous positions at Cummins include the QTR Transmission Product Development Engineer, where responsibilities involved developing a high-capacity dual-clutch transmission and ensuring component performance through rigorous design and analysis. As a Senior Product Development Engineer, Curtis successfully transitioned components to production, handled communications with management, and resolved critical program issues. Earlier career experiences include internships at Caterpillar Inc., where Curtis contributed to cost reduction designs and testing for construction and off-highway transmission products. Curtis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
