John Toohey has extensive work experience in finance and leadership roles within the media and communications industry. John started their career at NBC in various financial administration and planning roles from 1987 to 1991. John then joined CBS Corporation as a Senior Financial Analyst and progressed to become the Director of Operations Finance. During their time at CBS, they also served as the Associate Director of Olympic Administration, overseeing financial and sourcing activities for the 1998 Winter Olympics broadcast. After CBS, they worked at Booz Allen Hamilton as a Senior Associate/Associate, focusing on strategy and operations projects.
In 2003, John joined Cablevision as the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis for VOOM, Cablevision's direct broadcast satellite venture. John then moved to Rainbow Media as the Vice President of Finance and Strategic Planning, where they led financial operations and strategic planning for regional sports networks and video-on-demand channels.
John's next move was to Time Warner Cable, where they held several positions including Vice President of Financial Planning, Vice President of Financial Analysis & Special Projects, and Group Vice President of Operational Effectiveness. In these roles, they oversaw financial planning, analysis, control, and operational improvement efforts.
In 2016, John joined Charter Communications as the Group Vice President of Media Sales Finance for Spectrum Reach. John led a team of 70 employees and was responsible for pricing, planning, and business intelligence activities.
Most recently, John served as the Treasurer for the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and as the Senior Vice President of Finance for Cumulus Media. In these roles, they managed financial planning and analysis activities, supported investor relations, and served as a project manager for performance enhancement projects.
