Alaa Banifadel

Alaa Banifadel has extensive work experience in the field of technology and software engineering.

Alaa'smost recent role was as a Digital Technology Consultant at IKEA, starting in 2023. In this role, they worked under the Cloud Technologies Containers team, responsible for providing multi-tenant OCP and GCP based Kubernetes platform services. Alaa'stasks included managing and handling LCM activities for the Managed GKE platform, resolving vulnerabilities, and providing support to tenants.

Prior to this, from 2017 to 2022, Alaa worked at Curamet AB as an Engineering Lead and DevOps Advocate. Alaa led DevOps efforts and had hands-on experience in multiple domains such as CI/CD toolchain, cloud environments, and tooling for digital operations.

Before their role at Curamet AB, Alaa worked at IKEA from 2017 to 2022 as a DevOps Transformation Lead and CI/CD Consultant. Alaa was part of the system functions organization and was responsible for identifying and building the processes for the CI/CD framework. Alaa focused on enabling teams to automate workflows, onboard teams to be accountable for their technology stack, and support them in choosing their cloud vendor.

Prior to these roles, Alaa gained experience as a Delivery Manager, Senior Salesforce Consultant, Integration Technical Architect, and Integration Consultant at various companies such as Consultation, Hulul, Savvytek, and ATS.

Alaa Banifadel obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from Birzeit University, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their degree, Alaa has obtained several certifications from Salesforce. In October 2018, they obtained the Salesforce Platform Developer 1 certification. Prior to that, they obtained the Salesforce App Builder certification in October 2013 and the Salesforce Administrator certification in October 2012.
