Amna Basharat

Amna Basharat is an accomplished academic and industry professional with extensive experience in computer science and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as an Assistant Professor and Head of the IKNEX Lab at FAST-NUCES in Islamabad since January 2008, Amna teaches a wide range of courses including Knowledge Graphs, User Experience Engineering, and Database Systems. Research interests focus on artificial intelligence in healthcare, knowledge graphs in digital humanities, and intelligent geographic information systems. Amna also holds the position of Principal AI Research Engineer at CureMD, leading a team in knowledge engineering and data science applications within healthcare. Previous roles include research fellowships and teaching positions at notable institutions such as Goethe University Frankfurt and The University of Georgia, where knowledge graph development and semantic web technologies were key areas of focus. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Computer Science, an MSc in Distributed Information Systems, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Software Engineering.
