Dr. Lawrence Chin grew up in Troy, Michigan, and attended the University of Michigan for undergrad and med school graduating in 1987. He completed his neurosurgery residency at USC in 1994 and started at the University of Maryland where he became a Professor of Neurosurgery and Radiation Oncology. In 2006 he became Professor and Chair of Neurosurgery at Boston University, and in 2011 became Professor and Chair of Neurosurgery at SUNY Upstate. In 2019 he was named Dean of the Norton College of Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University. His research interests are in stereotactic radiosurgery, brain tumor biology, and traumatic brain injury in mouse models.
