Arlène Derbaix has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Arlène is currently the Vice President of Product Development Operations, Program, and Portfolio Management at CureVac since November 2023. Prior to that, they co-founded Bliss by JAE in November 2017, an organization focused on eliminating the sacrifices that women think they need to make for career advancement. From 2010 to 2023, Arlène held various roles at GSK, including Senior Director of Clinical Operations, Transformation Lead in R&D, Chief of Staff for Global Vaccines RD, Finance Director, Portfolio Director for Global Vaccine Development, and PMO for Budget and Resources in Global Vaccine Development. Before joining GSK, they worked as a Senior Research Analyst at McKinsey from 2005 to 2010, primarily focusing on the operational side of clinical trials and business development opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.

Arlène Derbaix obtained a PhD in Management and Finance from the Université catholique de Louvain et La Sorbonne in 2005. Arlène also attended Columbia Business School as a Visiting Scholar in Business from 2003 to 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Licence in Philologie classique from the Université catholique de Louvain in 1999. Arlène also holds a CAPM certification, which was obtained in October 2011.
