Dr. Christine Rueckert

Associate Director Technology at CureVac

Dr. Christine Rueckert has a diverse work experience in various research roles. Dr. Christine began their career at Charité in 2002 as a Research Associate and worked there until 2004. Dr. Christine then joined the Leibniz Institute for Molecular Pharmacology as a Research Associate from 2004 to 2007. In 2008, they started working at Freie Universität Berlin as a Research Associate until 2011. From 2011 to 2015, they served as a Project Leader at the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research. Since 2016, they have been working at CureVac, initially as a Research Scientist and currently as an Associate Director Technology.

Dr. Christine Rueckert received their education as follows: they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biophysics from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in 1997. Then, they pursued a Master's degree in Experimental Biophysics from the same institution which they completed in 2000. Dr. Rueckert also spent a year as an ERASMUS scholar at Imperial College London in 1995, where they studied Biochemistry. After their Master's, they earned a Ph.D. in Experimental Biophysics in 2000 from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Finally, they pursued postdoctoral studies in Cell Biology at the University of Virginia from 2000 to 2002. In addition to their academic degrees, Dr. Rueckert has obtained several certifications in various subjects such as project management, presentation skills, teaming skills, database management, negotiation skills, and laboratory animal science.
