Nils Hamann

Nils Hamann has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. Nils is currently serving as the Senior Director of Quality RNA Printer at CureVac since January 2024. Prior to this role, they worked at CureVac in various positions such as the Director of Quality Unit Commercial Manufacturing, Director of GMP/LCM, Director of GMP Production, and Director of Production Management. Before joining CureVac, Nils worked at Takeda GmbH as the Associate Director TSI/LY - Head of Production from June 2016 to December 2017. Nils also had a significant tenure at Vibalogics GmbH, where they worked as the Head of Production, Deputy Head of Production, and Specialist in Downstream Processing Biologics from 2011 to 2016. Nils began their career as a Scientist in Process Development (DSP) at Richter-Helm Biologics GmbH & Co. KG from 2008 to 2011.

Nils Hamann has a strong education background in microbiology. Nils completed their Diploma in Microbiology, Genetics, Virology, and Biochemistry at The Philipp University of Marburg from 1998 to 2003. Subsequently, they pursued further studies at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology, earning their Diploma in Microbiology in 2003. Nils then obtained their PhD, titled Dr. rer. nat., from the same institute in 2007. Nils furthered their research experience as a Postdoc at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology for a year, from 2007 to 2008.
