Jessica Mazzeo has held various roles in the fields of marketing, education, media, clerical assistance, and volunteer coordination. In 2021, they became a Team Lead/Marketing Liaison at Curtsy. From 2018 to 2021, they were an English Tutor/Paper Reviewer at Link-Systems International, Inc., providing thorough feedback on academic papers across disciplines and copyediting and proofreading. During this period, they were also a Digital Media Consultant at New Brunswick LASER Talks and a Clerical Assistant at Answer, overseeing administration of comprehensive sexuality education training materials and resources, managing online workshop/training enrollments and magazine subscriptions, and serving as an educational resource. Additionally, they were an Assistant Editor at the Undergraduate Research Writing Conference - Dialogues@RU, taking part in the essay selection and final decision-making process, copy and substantive editing, and moderating a Q&A panel. From 2014 to 2017, they were an Office Assistant at the Rutgers Department of Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, aiding in the digitization of the department, writing, designing, and disseminating programs and invitations for yearly graduation events, and assisting professors in research projects, book editing, and compiling materials for their promotion. In 2017, they were a Volunteer Coordinator at Violence Prevention and Victim Assistance at Rutgers, New Brunswick, helping to facilitate annual events and programming, overseeing volunteer schedules, campus-wide tabling, and working events, fundraising at local businesses, and designing promotional materials such as buttons and donation graphics.

Jessica Mazzeo attended North Brunswick Township High School from 2010 to 2014. Jessica then attended Douglass Residential College at Rutgers New Brunswick from 2014 to 2018, and also attended Rutgers University from 2014 to 2018, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, Women's and Gender Studies, and Creative Writing. Additionally, they were an Institute for Women's Leadership Scholar from 2016 to 2018. In 2018, they obtained a Creative Writing certification from Rutgers University. In 2020, they obtained a 40-Hour Volunteer Domestic Violence Response Training certification from Safe+Sound Somerset.
