Director, Medical Risk Management at Custom Design Benefits

Alberta Manga has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Alberta started their career as a Clinical Nurse Educator at Drake Center in 1998. From there, they worked as a Case Manager at Sheakley Unicomp before joining UnitedHealth Group in 2002. At UnitedHealth Group, Alberta held various roles including Clinical Manager, Utilization Review and Inpatient Care Manager. Alberta'sresponsibilities included performing admission reviews, collaborating with internal Case Managers, and evaluating medical guidelines. In 2020, Alberta worked as an Independent Consultant on a freelance basis. Currently, they are serving as the Director of Medical Risk Management at Custom Design Benefits since June 2022, and had previously held the position of Manager of Medical Risk Management.

Alberta Manga began their education at The City College of New York, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from 1989 to 1993. Later, they attended Central Michigan University from 1996 to 1998, earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management.

In addition to their formal education, Alberta Manga has also obtained various certifications. In December 2015, they became a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) from the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses. Alberta furthered their certifications by obtaining the MCG Certification from MCG in December 2018. Moreover, they completed a 35-hour course in Project Management from Breakthrough Performance Group, LLC in September 2019. Lastly, they achieved the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) certification from Breakthrough Performance Group, LLC in September 2019 as well.
