Shauna Leva

Medical Illustrator at Custom Learning Designs (CLD)

Shauna Leva has over a decade of experience in various creative roles. Shauna started their career as a Freelance Illustrator and Artist, working on commissions for a wide range of clients. Shauna also worked as a Costume Maker, utilizing their self-taught sewing skills to create unique and fantastical garments. Additionally, Shauna worked as a Private Drawing Instructor, providing personalized art lessons to prepare students for art school. Shauna also pursued their passion for writing and illustrating by working on their own graphic novel series.

In 2012, Shauna took on the role of Head of Advertising & Promotion for the Low Residency MFA in Illustration program at Hartford Art School. During this time, they also served as Assistant Program Administrator at the University of Hartford School of Art. Shauna concurrently worked as an Instructor at Artworks in2shades, teaching children the fundamentals of drawing for cartooning and animation.

Throughout their career, Shauna has had involvement in the world of cosplay, serving as the Official Cosplay Correspondent for Nerd Caliber. Shauna also worked as a Costume Designer for the CONNetic Dance Company and completed an internship at the University of Hartford Hartt School Costume shop.

Recently, Shauna has been working as a Medical Illustrator for Custom Learning Designs (CLD, Inc.). Their previous experiences have provided their with a diverse skill set and a strong foundation in various creative disciplines.

Shauna Leva completed their Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Illustration from the University of Hartford between 2008 and 2012. Prior to that, they attended Burlington High School from 2004 to 2008, but no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for this period. In addition to their formal education, Shauna also obtained a certification in Duolingo German Fluency: Elementary (Estimated) from Duolingo in March 2016.
