Ian Dawes has over 20 years of experience in software engineering and design. Ian began their career at Nortel Networks in 1999 as a Software Designer. From there, they worked as a Senior Software Designer at Ceyba, where they were responsible for network-wide fault correlation based on industry standards. At Nakina Systems, Ian served as a Software Designer and contributed to the design and implementation of a multi-vendor element management system.
Ian joined Belair Networks as a Software Team Lead in 2004, where they re-engineered the fault management system and redesigned the web GUI for the company's products. Ian also implemented a pulse correlation algorithm for foreign radar detection. At Ericsson, Ian worked as a Software Architect and continued to work on the Java-based NMS product that they had developed prior to Ericsson's acquisition of Belair. During their time at Ericsson, they successfully delivered new releases of the product to major customers every 6 months and expanded the team from 4 members to over 20.
Ian currently serves as the Backend Team Lead at Customer.io, a position they have held since May 2019. Overall, Ian Dawes has demonstrated strong technical skills and a track record of delivering high-quality software solutions throughout their career.
Ian Dawes attended Western University from 1993 to 1999, where they pursued a BESc degree in Engineering with a Computer Option. During the same period, they also obtained a BSc degree in Computer Science from Western University.
