David Merriman

David Merriman has extensive experience in health and human services, currently serving as the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services for Cuyahoga County since January 2011. Previous roles within the same department include Assistant Director, Administrator for Cuyahoga Job and Family Services, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Special Assistant to the Executive. Prior to this, David worked as a Project Coordinator at the Cleveland Department of Public Health from 2002 to 2010. David holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from Cleveland State University, completed between 2001 and 2002, and attended UCS from 1979 to 1988 for grade school education.
