Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in both cloud infrastructure and voice technologies. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing the potential of our AWS infrastructure, collaborating closely with developers to optimize services and servers for improved efficiency and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our cloud-based voice services. 

Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Design: Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and highly available AWS infrastructure solutions, integrating voice technologies where applicable.
  • Technical Leadership: Develop and implement scalable and secure cloud network architectures. Design virtual networks, VPNs, and interconnections between cloud environments and on-premises systems.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Drive automation efforts using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible to streamline provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
  • Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Implement monitoring solutions using Grafana and other tools to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of both AWS infrastructure and voice services.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in both AWS infrastructure and voice services.
  • **Voice Technologies Expertise:**Leverage your expertise in SIP, SBCs (Session Border Controllers), and VOIP to design, implement, and troubleshoot voice services, ensuring high quality and reliability.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, and DevOps engineers to support the development and deployment of cloud-based voice services.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up to date with the latest AWS services, voice technologies, and industry trends. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
  • While this position does not require participation in an official on-call roster, Engineering employees are expected to be available to assist with troubleshooting Severity 1 or Severity 2 production issues as they arise. If contacted, employees should be prepared to respond and provide support, leveraging their domain knowledge and skills to resolve critical incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 8 years of industry experience.
  • Proficiency in cloud networking services and tools (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, Google Cloud VPC).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with network security technologies and practices.
  • Proven experience as a senior AWS engineer with hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing AWS infrastructure.
  • Strong proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, configuration management tools like Ansible, and version control systems like GitHub.
  • Experience with monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana for infrastructure and voice services monitoring.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, with experience implementing security controls in both AWS infrastructure and voice services.
  • Expertise in voice technologies including SIP, SBCs, and VOIP, with experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting voice services.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer) and relevant certifications in voice technologies are a plus.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Network Engineer, or equivalent certifications.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher is a plus.
