Xenia Mountrouidou has worked in a variety of roles since 2002. Xenia began their career at Ellemedia Technologies as a Technical Staff Member, before moving on to IBM as a Software Performance Engineer in 2007. In 2003, they joined North Carolina State University as a Research/Teaching Assistant, where they undertook research on the Performance evaluation of a bi-modal scheduler for a star Optical Burst Switched network, authored scholarly papers, and taught courses in Computer Networks, Internet Protocols, Computer Performance Evaluation, and Connection Oriented Networks. In 2010, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the College of William and Mary. Xenia then moved on to Jacksonville University in 2011, where they were an Assistant Professor and Visiting Assistant Professor. In 2016, they joined the College of Charleston as an Assistant Professor and Head of the Cyber Security Research Lab. Here, they conducted research on computer network attacks, software defined networks, and IoT security, as well as teaching Software Engineering, Computer and Network Security. In 2020, they joined Network to Code as a Senior Consultant and Network Automation Engineer, and is currently a Senior Security Researcher at Cyber adAPT.
Xenia Mountrouidou's education history includes a PhD in Computer Science from North Carolina State University from 2003-2008, an MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Patras from 2000-2002, and a B.S. in Computer Science from Panepistimio Kritis from 1996-2000. Xenia also holds certifications from InfluxData, Cisco, and Red Hat, including Intermediate Flux (2022), Cisco Certified DevNet Specialist - Core (2021), Cisco Certified DevNet Associate (2020), and Red Hat Delivery Specialist - Automation (2020).
