Onyekachi Okereke has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity and technology. Onyekachi started their career as a Network Engineer and IT Intern at ipNX Nigeria Limited in 2017. Onyekachi then moved on to become a Network Management Engineer at the same company before transitioning to a role as a Cyber Security Analyst at KPMG Nigeria in 2018. Onyekachi worked as an Experienced Analyst and Associate, specializing in Cyber & Privacy at KPMG before joining CyberKach as a Lead in 2020. In 2021, they became a Cyber Resilience Consultant at Cyber Rescue Alliance. Onyekachi also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Tartu in 2022. Currently, they hold the position of a Security Specialist at Breakwater Technology, starting in 2023.
Onyekachi Okereke has a diverse education history. Onyekachi obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Onyekachi also completed their WASSCE (West African Senior School Certificate Examination) at the Federal Government Academy in Suleja.
Continuing their education, Onyekachi is currently pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Innovation and Technology Management at the University of Tartu, with an expected completion in 2023.
In addition to their formal education, Onyekachi has obtained several certifications in various IT and cybersecurity fields. Onyekachi is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², becoming certified in April 2023. Onyekachi also holds certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS) as an Amazon Web Services Cloud Practitioner, SecurityScorecard in Cybersecurity in the Board Room, and Microsoft in Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals and Azure Fundamentals.
Prior to these, Onyekachi obtained the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA in September 2020. Onyekachi also holds certifications in Comptia Linux+, LPIC1 from the Linux Professional Institute, and CCNA from Cisco. Additionally, Onyekachi has completed a TCP/IP course from Cybrary.
