Summary
The Technical Writer is responsible for writing and editing appropriate documentation and manuals for the company's cyber security offerings. They are required to write in a concise, evidential and informative, easy to understand style. The Technical Writer must be able to research and understand the functionality and purpose of CyberClan service offerings and translate this complex understanding into text that is easily absorbed and understood by any reader.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise and exceptional writing skills to produce high-quality reports based on investigative notes from subject matter experts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, ethically responsible, and capable of conveying complex information effectively to various audiences.
Job Duties
Research and understand Company cyber security services, purpose and functionality
Prepare technically complex documentation and occasional instructional material that is concise and easy to understand
Provide assistance to other Technical Writers as needed
Proofread, edit, and write a variety of materials
Support in the ongoing creation of the CyberClan style guide
Collaborate with delivery, sales and legal teams to ensure project completion to deadline and budget
Interact with internal stakeholders to determine best presentation dependent on project
Make adjustments to existing copy as required
Organize and prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines
Stay current and maintain a library of industry news and reference materials
Perform checks for questionable details
Perform administrative duties as assigned
Stay current on copyright and plagiarism legislation and regulations
Make recommendations for process improvements and more effective methods and mediums
Proven experience translating complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly reports
Ability to comprehend and interpret detailed investigative notes from subject matter experts
Experience working closely with technical teams to gather information and clarify complex concepts
Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to conduct interviews and meetings with subject matter experts to obtain necessary information
Experience in proofreading, editing, and reviewing technical documents for clarity and accuracy
Ability to implement feedback from peers and supervisors to improve documentation quality
Commitment to continuous improvement and staying updated with industry best practices
Proficiency in creating structured, well-organized documents that adhere to company standards and templates
Organize working groups and response collection with sales, legal and technical teams to coordinate responses to RFP/tenders
Create and revise global reporting templates for RFPs, incident reports and standard documentation
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or Advertising required
Creative writing certification preferred
Minimum of 2 years of professional Technical Writing experience required
Experience in the information technology industry preferred
Demonstrated effective writing skills required
Ability to create materials in a range of styles or as per prescribed style
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Able to take constructive criticism
Knowledge of Macintosh and/or PC computers required
Superb writing, content development and editing skills
Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation for various global English iterations
Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Highly effective teamwork skills
Computer literate, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and Adobe Products
Ability to adapt to and learn new software quickly
