Al Alper has been in the business world since 1991, when they founded and became President of Absolute Logic. In 1998, they co-founded MyReceivables, an online asset-based lending and management/financial services company. In 2005, they joined the Wilton Town Committee and in 2008 became its Chairman. In 2006, they joined the Wilton Board of Finance as a Board Member. In 2008, they co-founded People Capital, a new-media financial services platform. In 2017, they founded CyberGuard360, a leading provider of cyber security solutions and services.

Al Alper received their Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems/Management Information Systems from Baruch College in 1986-1989, followed by their Master of Business Administration in Finance from the same institution in 1986-1989. Al then went on to receive their Master of Arts in Mathematics from Adelphi University in 1995-1996. Al Alper's educational history began with their graduation from Shoreham-Wading River High School.
