Nathan Wallace, PhD, PE

Nathan Wallace, PhD, PE has over 10 years of experience in the engineering and cybersecurity fields. From 2010 to 2011, they were an Electrical Engineering Intern at Entergy and EE Consultants. Nathan then worked as an Associate Engineer at Cleco Corporation from 2011 to 2014. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Staff Engineer at Ampirical, where they assisted with the design and commissioning of multiple substations, as well as the design and setup of Ampirical's internal relay protection and controls testing/training lab. From 2015 to 2019, they were CoFounder and Director of Cyber Operations at Cybirical, LLC and GridIntel. In 2017, they became a Member and Volunteer of the IEEE PES Communications and Cybersecurity Committee (PSCC). From 2011 to 2014, they were also a Visiting Lecturer and Research Assistant at Louisiana Tech University, where they published research in the areas of control system cybersecurity and malicious application detection, and gained experience as a digital forensics examiner for several regional law enforcement agencies.

Nathan Wallace, PhD, PE has an extensive education history. Nathan received a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Engineering and Cyberspace from Louisiana Tech University, a Master of Science (MS) in Engineering and Power Systems from Louisiana Tech University, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Louisiana Tech University. Nathan also attended Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories University. Additionally, they hold certifications from the Information Assurance Certification Review Board (IACRB) as a Certified SCADA Security Architect (CSSA), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as an Extra Class Ham Radio, and the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS), Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance, Alabama Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, and Mississippi Board of Licensure for PEPLS as a Professional Engineer (PE).
