Senior Manager, Head – Multi-franchise Alexandra Service Operations at Cycle & Carriage Singapore

Chua Carmel has extensive work experience primarily in the automotive industry. Chua started their career in 2006 as a Customer Service Telephone Operator for Arvato Services Asia Pacific, where they provided support for Xbox 360 troubleshooting. Chua then worked as a Finance & Logistics Assistant for Ericsson in 2010 and as an Engineer Intern for ST Engineering in 2011.

In 2011, Chua joined LIQUI MOLY GmbH as a Pitcrew Assistant and Veritas Racing Pte Ltd as a Team Manager, where they performed root cause analysis of mechanical and electrical failures of race karts and led a team of mechanics. Chua also implemented efficient inventory tracking systems and devised race kit modifications.

Chua joined Acoustic Integration Pte Ltd in 2013 as an Apprentice before transitioning to Cycle & Carriage Singapore, where they held various positions from 2013 to 2021, including Management Trainee, Aftersales Operation Assistant Manager, Aftersales Operation Manager, and Aftersales Change Agent. In their most recent role as Senior Manager and Head of Multi-Franchise Alexandra Service Operations, they managed company P&L, led a team towards achieving goals, implemented performance tracking systems, conducted lean six sigma projects, and worked on collaborative programs and events.

Throughout their career, Chua has demonstrated skills in team leadership, project management, data analysis, and customer service.

Chua Carmel pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Automotive Engineering Technology/Technician from the National University of Singapore, starting in 2008 and completing in 2012. Prior to their university education, they attended Pioneer Junior College from 2004 to 2005, where they obtained their GCE A Level degree with a focus on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. In addition to their formal education, Chua Carmel has undertaken various certifications and programs to enhance their professional skills. These include certifications in Supply Chain Analytics from MITx on edX, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (ICBB) from Lean Methods Group, Process Mining: Data Science in Action from Eindhoven University of Technology, Electric and Conventional Vehicles from Chalmers University of Technology, Implement Incident Management Process (WSQ) from Workforce Singapore, and the Emerge Program from INSEAD. Chua has also acquired expertise in Process Mining through the Process Mining Expert certification from Celonis. Chua Carmel has further developed their skills in Lean Six Sigma by obtaining the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (ICGB) and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt (ICYB) certifications from Lean Methods Group. In the field of data analysis and visualization, they completed certifications in Data Analysis: Essential Skills from Microsoft, Data Visualization with Python Track and Python Programming Track from DataCamp, and Data Driven Decision Making from Hyper Island. Additionally, they obtained knowledge in digital business agility through the Digital Business Agility certification from Hyper Island. Chua Carmel has also received training in managing others through the Managing Others program offered by Jardine Matheson. Chua has achieved proficiency in visual analytics using Power BI through training at Singapore Polytechnic. Lastly, they completed the P3 Operation Level 3 Professional certification from Proudfoot and acquired knowledge in Finance for Non-Financial Professionals through a program offered by PwC Singapore. Additionally, they expanded their knowledge and skills in Diesel Engine Motorisation through a certification program offered by Citroën.
