Vice President for Securing Automation and Secure Manufacturing Architecture at CyManII | Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute

Gabriela Ciocarlie has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and positions. Gabriela is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Texas at San Antonio since July 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Vice President for Securing Automation and Secure Manufacturing Architecture at CyManII | Cybersecurity Manufacturing Innovation Institute starting in November 2020.

Gabriela also worked as an Associate Consultant at Cigital from September 2009 to February 2010.

Gabriela's career began as a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University from September 2004 to September 2009. Gabriela also served as a Summer Intern at Microsoft Research Silicon Valley in June to August 2008, and at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in May to August 2007.

Gabriela Ciocarlie's education history includes a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Engineering from the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, which they obtained from 1998 to 2003. Afterward, they pursued a PhD in Computer Science at Columbia University from 2004 to 2009. In between their studies at the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest and Columbia University, Gabriela attended UC Santa Barbara in 2003, although the specific degree and field of study are not mentioned.
