Jim Travis has extensive work experience in the United States Air Force, where they served from 1989 to 2019. Jim worked in various positions, including Attack Pilot, Assistant Operations Officer, Fighter Squadron Commander, Operational Support Flight Commander, Chief of Flying Training, Fighter Group Commander, and Director Strategic Partnerships & Outreach, among others. In 1999, they founded their own business development and technology consultancy called Travis & Associates LLC, where they created SearchFAX.com, a service specializing in fax-delivered personalized cover letters and resumes to an executive recruiter database. Recently, they worked as the Director, Air Force Programs & Strategic Innovation, for Cypress International, Inc., where they provided top-quality business development products and services to industry clients.
Jim Travis has a Bachelor of Science degree in Astronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy, which they completed from 1985 to 1989. Jim also attended Squadron Officer School at USAF Air University in 1996. In the same year, they completed an USAF Accident Investigation Course at USAF Safety Center. From 2004 to 2005, they attended USAF Air University-Air Command and Staff College. Jim also received a Master's degree in Management with a focus on Information Technology from Webster University in 2014. Additionally, they attended USAF Air University- Air War College, but the exact year is unknown. Jim is also certified as an Airline Transport Pilot by the Federal Aviation Administration. Jim completed their education in 2015.
