Disha Awasthy

Disha Awasthy is a highly experienced scientist specializing in R&D validation and molecular biology. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist in R&D Validation at Cytiva since June 2025, Disha previously held positions at Strand Life Sciences, where Disha contributed to Next Generation Sequencing for clinical diagnostics from May 2014 to June 2025 and served as Project Scientist at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for DNA sequencing projects from June 2021 to April 2022. Earlier experience includes significant roles at AstraZeneca, focusing on in-vitro drug susceptibility assays and gene knock-out studies related to Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Disha began a career as a Project Assistant at CFTRI Mysore, excelling in microbiology techniques and recombinant DNA technology. Disha holds an M.Sc in Microbiology from PES College and a B.Sc in Microbiology, Chemistry, and Zoology from Holkar Science College.
