Onur Ercan, PhD, currently serves as a Scientist at Cytiva since February 2020, focusing on bioprocess development for biomolecule production and the optimization of microbial fermentation processes. Prior to this role, Onur was a Research Engineer at Uppsala University, contributing to the European Gram-Negative Antibacterial Engine (ENABLE) consortium, which aimed to develop antimicrobial compounds. Onur's background includes postdoctoral research on bacterial growth physiology, guest researcher experience at Wageningen UR studying lactic acid bacteria, and research assistant roles in industrial fermentation projects. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Microbiology from Wageningen University & Research, along with a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology and Genetics from Istanbul Technical University.
