Andrew Nicholson

Andrew Nicholson is an experienced optical engineer with a comprehensive background in designing and building optical systems. Currently serving as an Optical Engineer at Cytonome since August 2020, Andrew has honed expertise in precision laser systems and optical design using Zemax and MATLAB. Previous positions include significant roles at Wilcox Industries, Pathogenetix, U.S. Genomics, Corning Lasertron, and Ciba-Corning Diagnostics, where Andrew contributed to the development of advanced optical instruments and techniques for applications in microbial genotyping, DNA detection, and semiconductor laser characterization. Andrew's academic foundation was established at the University of Hartford, where a degree was obtained from 1983 to 1987.
