Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at CytoReason

Gil Eshel is a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist and Team Lead at CytoReason since June 2021. Prior to this role, Gil served as a Full-time Postdoctoral Associate in the Department of Biology at New York University from January 2017 to June 2021, where responsibilities included managing an interinstitutional project funded by the US Department of Energy, focusing on the phylogenomics and systems biology of plant adaptation to extreme conditions. Gil's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Plant Sciences, an MSc in Plant Molecular Biology, and a BSc in General Biology, all obtained from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Research during the Ph.D. involved studying molecular bases for abiotic stress adaptation in desert plants.
