Tyler Schmid has held a variety of roles in their career. In 2021, they began working as a Manufacturing Engineer and Associate Manufacturing Engineer at Cytrellis Biosystems, Inc. Prior to that, they were self-employed as a Combustion Engine Mechanic - 2 & 4 Stroke Engines from 2012-2021, where they were responsible for repairing and rebuilding engines, transmissions, brakes, clutches, starters, axles, carburetors, ignition, fuel systems, suspension, and other mechanical and electrical systems on 60+ projects. From 2017-2019, they worked at Lehigh University as a Tour Guide, Orientation Coordinator, and Orientation Leader. In 2019, they were an Engineering Intern at Crystal Engineering Co. In 2018, they were a Kennel Assistant at Aintree Kennel. In 2017, they were an Assistant Mechanic Internship at Cycles 128 Powersports Shop.

Tyler Schmid attended Masconomet Regional High School from 2013 to 2017, where they earned their High School Diploma. Tyler then attended Lehigh University from 2017 to 2021, where they earned their BSME in Mechanical Engineering with a Minor in Aerospace Engineering. In 2018, they obtained a Certified Solid Works Associate (CSWA) certification from Dassault Systèmes.
