Chris Tholstrup

Chris Tholstrup is currently an advisor at Daanaa Resolution. Chris has previously worked as the COO & VP Marketing at SkyCentrics, a smart-grid and smart-buildings IoT startup, from September 2016 to December 2019. At SkyCentrics, they were responsible for leading the company through its first commercialization steps. This involved building a bottom-up business plan incorporating economic models by market vertical and customer profile, as well as developing a framework to evaluate product feature development, business model, sales and implementation partnerships, and customer opportunities. Chris was also responsible for closing $5M of multi-year contracts in partnership with equipment and service providers, negotiating scope expansion including high margin services, and leading implementation including creating marketing content, and setting up call center. In addition, they led due diligence and investment negotiations with a large corporate VC, and participated in drafting of California Title 24 Building Energy Efficiency standards alongside major utilities, government bodies, and OEM.

Chris Tholstrup has a Master of Business Administration from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a concentration in entrepreneurship, marketing, and economics. Chris also has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Cambridge in modern languages, specifically Italian and French. In addition, Chris Tholstrup has several certifications, including Boosting Creativity for Innovation from Coursera, IT Security: Defense against the digital dark arts from Coursera, Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and Business Sustainability Management from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
